Campagnolo Record

Hiddenset - TTC Hiddenset Threadless Threaded
Record Headsets

Campagnolo Record Headsets:
  • Pictured above from left to right are:
Record TTC (Tall Top Cap) Hiddenset, Record normal height Hiddenset, Record Threadless and standard Record Threaded headset.
  • Record Hiddensets are designed for smooth 1 1/8 inch fork columns and require Hiddenset compatible head tube lugs.
  • Hiddensets fit inside your frame and are considered internal headsets. They use grade 25, precision 1/8 inch ball bearings in two stainless steel retainers.
  • The Tall Top Cap hiddenset has a stack height of 15.9 mm. The normal height Hiddenset has a stack height of just 5.9 mm. Both will accept Le Tour headset spacers.
  • Both models adjust by tightening a 5 mm allen head center bolt that threads into an internal, fork mounted, star nut. The carbon fiber top cap assembly and star nut are included with both Hiddenset models.
  • Both Record Hiddensets have a beautiful carbon fiber finish and tip the scales at a mere 73 grams.
Record Hiddenset - Normal Height
Record Hiddenset

  • Campagnolo also makes Record Threadless headsets that fit smooth, 1 inch and 1 1/8 inch fork columns, and frames with traditional head tubes.
  • Both Record Threadless headset sizes weigh in at a mere 110 grams.
  • Record Threadless headsets feature a self centering upper race that provides easier adjustment and greater durability.
  • Campagnolo also produces a 1 inch headset that is designed for use with 1 inch threaded forks and quill style handlebar stems.
  • Record Threadless and traditional threaded headsets have a beautiful satin silver anodized finish. The hardened steel races are precisely machined and roll on grade 25 stainless steel ball bearings encased in easy to install, retainers. It is reasonable to expect 20,000 miles from a properly installed and well maintained Record headset.
  • The one inch threadless headset upper race, uses 5/32 diameter balls, while the lower race employs larger, 3/16 balls, for greater durability. 1 1/8 inch Record threadless headsets use 5/32 bearings for upper and lower races. For maximum longevity we suggest replacing the headset bearings every two years or 7 to 8,000 miles.
  • The lower race has four grease ports hidden under a black elastic band that allow for easy and quick lubrication without disassembling the headset.
  • We suggest using Le Tour Whisper White grease and the Le Tour Grease Gun for lubricating Campagnolo headsets.
  • Stack height is the actual height or width of the lower and upper portions of your headset. To determine the stack height of your existing headset simply use a calipers to measure the height of your lower headset assembly and then your upper headset assembly. Add the two and you will have the stack height of your current headset.
  • The Record Threadless headset has a stack height of 24.5 mm and weighs a mere 110 grams. The Record threaded 1 inch headset has a 38.5 mm stack height which makes it an ideal replacement for older Nuovo, Super and C Record threaded headsets. It weighs just 104 grams. Both Record headsets will accept Le Tour headset spacers.

  • Made in Italy by Campagnolo and backed with a three year warranty.

Campagnolo Chorus

  Threaded   Threadless
Chorus Headsets

  • Campagnolo Chorus Threadless headsets fit smooth, 1 inch fork columns, and frames with traditional head tubes.
  • Campagnolo's Chorus Threadless headset weighs a mere 111 grams and features a self centering upper race that provides easier adjustment and greater durability.
  • Campagnolo also produces a 1 inch Chorus headset that is designed for use with 1 inch threaded forks and quill style handlebar stems. It is almost identical to the Record headset except the locknut, upper bearing races and pressed in lower bearing race are of lesser quality. Chorus 1 inch threaded headsets spin smoothly but lack the exceptional durability of Record. It is reasonable to expect 10 to 15,000 miles from a properly installed and well maintained Chorus headset.
  • Chorus Threadless and traditional threaded headsets have a beautiful satin silver anodized finish. The hardened steel races are precisely machined and roll on grade 25 stainless steel ball bearings encased in easy to install, retainers.
  • The one inch threadless and threaded headset upper race, uses 5/32 diameter balls, while the lower race employs larger, 3/16 balls, for greater durability. For maximum longevity we suggest replacing the headset bearings every two years or 5 to 6,000 miles.
  • We suggest using Le Tour Whisper White grease and the Le Tour Grease Gun for lubricating Campagnolo headsets.

Branford Bike Online Catalog - Archival Edition
brought to you by the former owner of Branford Bike, Tim Brockett via his personal web site, TimsLife.Com
This is an archival edition of the Branford Bike web site from February 2006. Complete with product photos, prices, how to articles and technical specifications it is a treasure trove of accurate, detailed and historical information.

In July of 2006 Branford Bike was incinerated by a huge forest fire. No one was hurt but the inventory and buildings were completely destroyed. I witnessed the fire and stayed until the trees were burning in my driveway. At that point I hiked from Branford Bike, through the smoke and embers, down the mountain to my Jeep 3 miles away. I took photos and wrote about the harrowing experience so everyone could see what I saw. My insurance was generous and I later rebuilt my home and started another business selling books. Read the story here.

Branford Bike was a huge part of my life for over 30 years; June 1976 to July 2006. I enjoyed those years tremendously and Branford Bike was often a labor of love. I hope you enjoy browsing through the archival catalog. If your visit brings back pleasant memories please share them with me via e-mail at timbrockett@gmail.com .

If you find any printed Branford Bike catalogs, advertisments or flyers please scan them as a PDF and email. Or you may mail them via US Post to Tim Brockett, PO Box 1711, Emigrant, MT 59027. Eventually I will post them in a Memorabilia catalog section.

Many Thanks and Best Wishes,
Tim Brockett
