A versatile and durable axle vise is a necessity for every mechanic’s workbench. The Park AV-4’s heavy-duty aluminum jaws have three precision-machined openings to accommodate almost any front or rear wheel axle, from 5/16" all the way up to 14mm. It will even fit 9/16" axles for pedal adjustments and overhauls. Heavy duty spring clips securely attach to the jaws of a bench vise, keeping the AV-4 properly positioned, for easy, trouble-free use.
The Campagnolo Freehub Pawl tool is worth its weight in gold. The umbrella shaped tool easily holds those slippery, spring loaded pawls in place, on any freehub. Simply slide the bottom of the umbrella over the pawls and then easily slide the freehub into your hub's body. Pull the umbrella towards you while pushing the freehub into the hub. Fits Campagnolo, Shimano, Zipp, Mavic and almost every other freehub made.

We suggest getting the complete set of Park hex wrenches, Park HXS-2, with a holder. The holder stands alone or mounts easily to peg board or plywood. It prevents wrenches from getting lost and will help to keep your work area organized. The extra long handles are ideal for working on handlebar stems and cranks. The Park HXS-2 set contains 2, 2.5, 3, 4, 5, 6, 8 and 10 mm hex head wrenches.

This is an archival edition of the Branford Bike web site from February 2006. Complete with product photos, prices, how to articles and technical specifications it is a treasure trove of accurate, detailed and historical information.

In July of 2006 Branford Bike was incinerated by a huge forest fire. No one was hurt but the inventory and buildings were completely destroyed. I witnessed the fire and stayed until the trees were burning in my driveway. At that point I hiked from Branford Bike, through the smoke and embers, down the mountain to my Jeep 3 miles away. I took photos and wrote about the harrowing experience so everyone could see what I saw. My insurance was generous and I later rebuilt my home and started another business selling books. Branford Bike was a huge part of my life for over 30 years; June 1976 to July 2006. I enjoyed those years tremendously and Branford Bike was often a labor of love.
