Campagnolo Record Ergo Levers:
  • In 2004 Campagnolo redesigned their right side Record Ergo shifter. They added a Teflon coated, Ergo Index gear for smoother shifting and a carbon polymer, G spring carrier for greater durability. Both are pictured below. The drilled out Ergo Index gear and carbon carrier reduce the weight of the Ultra Ergo lever by a mere 8 grams. However the new Record Ergo levers do shift smoother than previous models.
  • Record Ultra Ergo Index Gear

  • You can upgrade any 1999 to current right hand 10 speed Ergo shifter to Ultra shifting by simply replacing the above three parts. Click on the underlined text for more info...
  • The Record Ultra model is only available as a 10 speed lever. The 2003 model is only available as a 9 speed model. The 2003 9 speed model may be retrograded to pre-2001 9 speed or 8 speed at the time of purchase for just $20.00. It will then shift perfectly with all Campagnolo pre-2001 9 speed or Campagnolo 8 speed drivetrains.
  • Campagnolo Record Ergo levers are precisely machined and beautifully finished.
  • The brake lever handles and the finger shift levers are covered with a beautiful carbon weave.
  • Hardened steel springs and alloy hardware are carefully machined and then heat treated for greater durability.
  • Two, stainless steel sealed bearings on each central pivot, provide silky smooth shifting.
  • The weight of a Record Ergo Lever set without cables is just 342 grams.
  • 100% Ergo Brain compatible.
  • Adjustable, downtube cable stops are included. A brake and derailleur cable kit with black housing, two derailleur, two brake wires and a few cable end caps come with the Ergo lever set. Cable crimps are NOT included.
  • We suggest purchasing a bag of Le Tour Cable Crimps and and a few Le Tour 5mm Cable End Caps as Campy does not include enough with their cable kit.
  • Want housing in bright colors? Use Le Tour Brake and Derailleur housing. Le Tour fits Campagnolo Ergo levers perfectly, works flawlessly and adds beauty to any bike.
  • You can expect to get 10,000 to 15,000 miles from the right lever and 20,000 to 30,000 miles from the left lever before they will need rebuilding.
  • For longest life and smoothest shifting we recommend using Le Tour Whisper White grease with the Le Tour Grease Gun to lubricate Campagnolo Ergo levers. Do NOT use chain lube to lubricate Ergo levers.
  • The left side shifter is racheted so it works with double or triple chainring cranks and all Campagnolo front derailleurs. It even works with most Shimano front derailleurs. The right shifter is indexed and only works with Campagnolo rear derailleurs.
  • Genuine Campagnolo replacement parts and cables are available below.
  • Available as a set of two with cables or as individual levers.
  • We suggest using a Park Torque Wrench, for the most accurate installation. Campagnolo recommends the following torque specifications:
Handlebar Clamp Band - tighten to 10.0 Newton Meters (N.m) or 7.38 foot pounds.
  • Visit our Cable Cutting Tips page to see how professional mechanics install cables and housing.
  • Made in Italy by Campagnolo and backed with a three year warranty.
  • Warranty service and help with technical questions is available from Camapgnolo USA in Carlsbad, California USA. Call Campagnolo USA at (760) 931-0106, email them at Info@CampagnoloUSA.com or visit them at Campagnolo.com by clicking on the underlined text .

Branford Bike Online Catalog - Archival Edition
brought to you by the former owner of Branford Bike, Tim Brockett via his personal web site, TimsLife.Com
This is an archival edition of the Branford Bike web site from February 2006. Complete with product photos, prices, how to articles and technical specifications it is a treasure trove of accurate, detailed and historical information.

In July of 2006 Branford Bike was incinerated by a huge forest fire. No one was hurt but the inventory and buildings were completely destroyed. I witnessed the fire and stayed until the trees were burning in my driveway. At that point I hiked from Branford Bike, through the smoke and embers, down the mountain to my Jeep 3 miles away. I took photos and wrote about the harrowing experience so everyone could see what I saw. My insurance was generous and I later rebuilt my home and started another business selling books. Read the story here.

Branford Bike was a huge part of my life for over 30 years; June 1976 to July 2006. I enjoyed those years tremendously and Branford Bike was often a labor of love. I hope you enjoy browsing through the archival catalog. If your visit brings back pleasant memories please share them with me via e-mail at timbrockett@gmail.com .

If you find any printed Branford Bike catalogs, advertisments or flyers please scan them as a PDF and email. Or you may mail them via US Post to Tim Brockett, PO Box 1711, Emigrant, MT 59027. Eventually I will post them in a Memorabilia catalog section.

Many Thanks and Best Wishes,
Tim Brockett
