Campagnolo Hyperon Wheels:
  • Semi-aero, box section, full carbon fiber rims are exceptionally comfortable, responsive and long lasting.
  • Designed for the rigors of multi-day stage races like the Tour de France. Excellent for long rides, hill climbing and sprinting.
  • Available in a tubular tire version only.
  • Rear rim has asymmetric, 3 mm offset, drive side spoke holes which create a better balanced, stronger and more durable wheel. Overall dish is reduced, spoke tensions are similiar and lateral rigidity is greatly increased.
  • Constructed from carbon fiber and with FEM analysis for exceptional strength, minimal weight and maximum durability.
  • This rims braking tracks are precisely machined so both are perfectly parallel. They require special brake pads that fit Campagnolo RE700 holders. Two pairs, four pads total, are included with each set of wheels. Click on the underlined text to visit our Brake Pad page to see extra Campagnolo RE-701 Hyperon Brake Pads.
  • Carbon rims are feather light; they are ideal for any type of riding where you are either frequently climbing or accelerating.
  • 20 mm wide rim is standard for all new Campy rims and wheels; wheel changes are simple and no longer require brake adjustments.
  • User friendly; wheels are easy to true or repair. No need to return to the factory and endure long waiting times.
  • Detailed manual, deluxe carrying bag and a Record skewer are included with each wheel. Rear wheel also comes with a steel lock ring for 12 and 13 tooth starting position cassettes.
  • We suggest using Continental tubular glue and Le Tour Rim Cement Remover for installing tires on these fine wheels. Click on the underlined text to visit our Tire Care page to see a complete selection of Tire Care products.
  • All wheels are securely packed by our professional shipping staff.
  • Made in Italy by Campagnolo and backed with a 3 year replacement warranty.

Can I use these wheels with Campagnolo 8, 9 or 10 speed systems? How about Shimano 8, 9 and 10 speed systems?

Campagnolo hubs and wheels can be used with Camapagnolo 9 or 10 speed systems simply by slipping on a 9 or 10 speed Campagnolo cassette. You can use them with Campagnolo 8 speed systems by using a "loose cog" Camapagnolo 9 speed cassette and a Wheels Shift 8 spacing kit. Campagnolo wheels may also be used with Shimano rear derailleurs and STI shifters. Click on the underlined text to visit our Cassettes and Spacers catalog section for a detailed discussion of cassettes and spacing kits.

  • Both front and rear rims have reinforced nipple washer seats, which evenly support spoke tensioning forces.
  • Straight pull spoke design is combined with spherical, self centering nipples and washers. Shearing stresses and breakage, common to the elbow section of normal spokes, are eliminated. The self locking, hardened 7075 alloy 5.5 mm nipple and Cromoly washer combination resists loosening even under very high loads. Spherical self centering washers always keep the spokes in a perfectly straight line and evenly distribute pedaling forces. These wheels hold their true beautifully.

  • The Record quality hub shells are constructed from carbon fiber to reduce weight and increase durability. The rear drive side flange is reinforced with an alloy insert so you can sprint as hard as you wish.
  • Hub components are Record quality and specifically designed for straight pull (HPW) spokes. They come with Record axles, races, bearings and quick release skewers.
  • Spokes are constructed from X12 CrNi Stainless Steel and are finished in black to match the rims and hubs.
  • Front and non-drive rear spokes are lighter gauge; they have a thinner cross-section, than the drive side rear to reduce weight without sacrificing strength.
  • 24 rear and 22 front, aerodynamic, bladed spokes cut through the wind and can add seconds to your best time.
  • Record 9/10 speed cassette body has a titanium pawl carrier to further reduce weight with no sacrifice in strength.
  • Also available with a steel cassette body that is perfectly machined to allow Shimano 8, 9 and 10 speed cassettes to slide right on. No spacing kits are required. The Shimano cassette body uses a Shimano lockring. You may switch between Campy and Shimano style bodies as well.

Branford Bike Online Catalog - Archival Edition
brought to you by the former owner of Branford Bike, Tim Brockett via his personal web site, TimsLife.Com
This is an archival edition of the Branford Bike web site from February 2006. Complete with product photos, prices, how to articles and technical specifications it is a treasure trove of accurate, detailed and historical information.

In July of 2006 Branford Bike was incinerated by a huge forest fire. No one was hurt but the inventory and buildings were completely destroyed. I witnessed the fire and stayed until the trees were burning in my driveway. At that point I hiked from Branford Bike, through the smoke and embers, down the mountain to my Jeep 3 miles away. I took photos and wrote about the harrowing experience so everyone could see what I saw. My insurance was generous and I later rebuilt my home and started another business selling books. Read the story here.

Branford Bike was a huge part of my life for over 30 years; June 1976 to July 2006. I enjoyed those years tremendously and Branford Bike was often a labor of love. I hope you enjoy browsing through the archival catalog. If your visit brings back pleasant memories please share them with me via e-mail at timbrockett@gmail.com .

If you find any printed Branford Bike catalogs, advertisments or flyers please scan them as a PDF and email. Or you may mail them via US Post to Tim Brockett, PO Box 1711, Emigrant, MT 59027. Eventually I will post them in a Memorabilia catalog section.

Many Thanks and Best Wishes,
Tim Brockett
