Current Campagnolo Brake Pads
  • Campagnolo Dual Pivot pads are easily replaceable. Carefully pry a small flat bladed screwdriver under the pad at the open end of the holder. Gently twist the screwdriver and pry the pad away from the holder. The pad will start to lift and come out of the holder. Repat one or two times until the pad pops off the holder.
  • To install new pads remove one holder at a time from your caliper. Reinstall the holder when you have inserted the new pad. It is easy confuse right and left holders or put them on backwards. Coat the replacement pad with talc and push it in by hand. Put the closed end of the alloy holder on a soft block of wood. Gently tap the extended end of the rubber pad with a small hammer until it seats completely into the holder.
  • Dual Pivot pads come as a set of four rubber pads WITH OUT the alloy holders.
  • Dual Pivot pads come in three models, RE 600, RE700 and RE 701. RE600 and RE700 are pictured above.
  • Campagnolo RE 700 dual pivot pads were introduced in the year 2000. They are longer and narrower than the older, RE 600 dual pivot pads.
  • RE 700 pads fit:
Year 2000 to current Record and Chorus brake calipers
    Year 2001 Daytona brake calipers
    Year 2002 Centaur brake calipers
  • RE 701 pads fit:
Year 2000 to current Record and Chorus brake calipers
    Year 2001 Daytona brake calipers
    Year 2002 Centaur brake calipers.
They are designed for use with Carbon rims such as those used with Camapagnolo Hyperon wheels.
  • The RE 600 pad pictured above and below fit:
1994 to 1999 Record brake calipers
1995 to 1999 Chorus brake calipers
1996 to 1999 Athena brake calipers
1996 to 1997 Veloce Monoplaner calipers
    Year 2000 Daytona brake calipers
    2001 Veloce brake calipers.
  • 1999 Record Dual Pivot

  • Campagnolo also produced a single unit, molded HPB pad and holder that is pictured below.
  • 1999 Record Dual Pivot

  • The Campagnolo RE 500 HPB molded pad were used on:
1994 and 1995 Athena brake calipers
1998 to 2001 Mirage brake calipers
1999 and 2000 Veloce brake calipers.
  • Campagnolo HPB molded pads will fit Campagnolo Nuovo and Super Record brake calipers. You will need to purchase the HPB mounting bolt and washers also.
  • Campagnolo molded HPB pads are no longer available. We suggest using Kool Stop Shimano style brake shoes with holders instead. They will stop better than the original Campy HPB pads and in most cases will fit perfectly. On some Campy calipers you may have to widen the brake arm slot about 1mm with a small round file.
  • Campagnolo brake pad holders, bolts, spacers and washers are available.
  • Visit our Campagnolo Brake Parts page to read about replacement parts for 1994 to 1999 Campagnolo brakes.
  • Visit our Campagnolo Brake Parts page to read about replacement parts for year 2000 Campagnolo brakes.
  • Made in Italy by Campagnolo and backed with a three year warranty.
  • Kool Stop produces a series of premium quality brake pads and holders that fit Campagnolo and Shimano brakes. Click on the underlined text to visit the Kool Stop Brake Pad page and see their complete line.

Classic Campagnolo Pads by Kool Stop
  • The Kool Stop Squared Ends Black model are designed to fit the Squared Ends holder pictured below. You may have to cut a small notch in the center of the back of the pad to make room for the attaching nut inside the holder.
  • Squared Ends Holder

  • Squared Ends brake shoes were used by Campagnolo from the early 1970's to the mid 1990's. There were several varieties of this holder produced by Campagnolo but all used the same pad dimensions. If your brakes are from that era and your holder is similar to the above photo, you may use Kool Stop Squared Ends pads. Most of the Squared Ends holders required that the back of the brake pad be notched. Do NOT notch the front of the pad which can adversely effect stopping power.
You can easily notch the Kool Stop pad with a coping saw and an Exacto razor knife. Use the razor knife for trimming only. The pad material is tough and cuts more easily and safely with a fine tooth coping saw.
  • Kool Stop Black pads are designed for normal, dry riding conditions.
  • Classic brake pads are sold in singles. You may purchase only what you need.

Branford Bike Online Catalog - Archival Edition
brought to you by the former owner of Branford Bike, Tim Brockett via his personal web site, TimsLife.Com
This is an archival edition of the Branford Bike web site from February 2006. Complete with product photos, prices, how to articles and technical specifications it is a treasure trove of accurate, detailed and historical information.

In July of 2006 Branford Bike was incinerated by a huge forest fire. No one was hurt but the inventory and buildings were completely destroyed. I witnessed the fire and stayed until the trees were burning in my driveway. At that point I hiked from Branford Bike, through the smoke and embers, down the mountain to my Jeep 3 miles away. I took photos and wrote about the harrowing experience so everyone could see what I saw. My insurance was generous and I later rebuilt my home and started another business selling books. Read the story here.

Branford Bike was a huge part of my life for over 30 years; June 1976 to July 2006. I enjoyed those years tremendously and Branford Bike was often a labor of love. I hope you enjoy browsing through the archival catalog. If your visit brings back pleasant memories please share them with me via e-mail at timbrockett@gmail.com .

If you find any printed Branford Bike catalogs, advertisments or flyers please scan them as a PDF and email. Or you may mail them via US Post to Tim Brockett, PO Box 1711, Emigrant, MT 59027. Eventually I will post them in a Memorabilia catalog section.

Many Thanks and Best Wishes,
Tim Brockett
