Genuine NiteRider Bulbs:

NiteRider produces halogen bulbs in 6 or 12 volt versions. They also produce an H.I.D. or High Intensity Discharge bulb for their 12 volt HID lights.
The sealed, halogen bulb assembly is easy to install and will fit all current and older NiteRider lighting systems. Step by step instructions are included.
Spot or Flood beam patterns are available for 15 and 20 watt bulbs.
You may upgrade your light with a brighter bulb (higher wattage) or a wider beam bulb.
For extra safety and zero down time we suggest keeping a spare bulb with your biking gear.
6 volt halogen bulbs can be used in any digital or non-digital, NiteRider 6 volt lighting system.
12 volt bulbs can be used in any, digital or non-digital, 12 volt non-HID NiteRider lighting system. 12 volt systems are sometimes referred to as 13.2 volt sytems. They are the same.
HID bulbs may only be used in NiteRider 2001 to current, HID lighting systems.
NiteRider HID Spot bulb, NR-LS-6614, is recommened for use on an HID helmet light when used in conjuction with a handlebar mounted light. It is quite bright but the pattern is not wide enough for really dark riding conditions.
Not sure of what bulb you have? NR-LS-4108 and NR-LS-4110 are original equipment with all 12 volt NiteRider halogen lights. NR-LS-1009 is the only 10 watt, 6 volt bulb NiteRider makes. NR-LS-1063 is original with all NiteRider single beam 6 volt lights. All NiteRider HID lights use the NR-LS-6611 replacement bulb.

SurLok Connectors...
NiteRider redesigned their cable, light and battery connectors in 2002. They simplified the design so the same connectors may be used with 6 and 12 volt systems. However the new SurLok connectors are NOT compatible with pre-2002 batteries, lights or chargers without an adapter cable. Both old and the new SurLok connectors are pictured below.

Extension Cables Made Easy:

2002 to current NiteRider lights use SurLok connectors. SurLok extension cables may be used with 6 or 12 volt sytems and come in two lengths; 12 inches (30 cm) or 36 inches (92 cm).
Pre-2002 NiteRider lights used one connector style for 12 volt lights and another style for 6 volt systems.
Most pre-2002 6 volt NiteRider lights used a three connector male pin as pictured above. Some pre-2002 non-digital lights used a two conductor male pin. The three conductor cable pictured above will work fine with two or three conductor, NiteRider 6 volt lights.
Single extension cables may be connected for greater length.
Need an extension cable for your pre-2001 Niterider 12 volt light? Purchase a NR-LS-6405 and a NR-LS-6466 battery adapter cables. Then simply use a current 12 or 36 inch SurLok Extension cable between the two battery adapter cables.
We have extra long cables (NR-LS-6249) for pre-2002 NiteRider 6 volt lights. It is pictured below. One end connects to the lamp head while the other end connects to your battery. It was widely used for helmet mounted lights.
We also have two conductor, coiled cords with two matching male ends. It was used for NiteRider Premium, Cycleops and a few other lights. Fully stretched it is 82 inches (208 cm) long.

This is an archival edition of the Branford Bike web site from February 2006. Complete with product photos, prices, how to articles and technical specifications it is a treasure trove of accurate, detailed and historical information.

In July of 2006 Branford Bike was incinerated by a huge forest fire. No one was hurt but the inventory and buildings were completely destroyed. I witnessed the fire and stayed until the trees were burning in my driveway. At that point I hiked from Branford Bike, through the smoke and embers, down the mountain to my Jeep 3 miles away. I took photos and wrote about the harrowing experience so everyone could see what I saw. My insurance was generous and I later rebuilt my home and started another business selling books. Branford Bike was a huge part of my life for over 30 years; June 1976 to July 2006. I enjoyed those years tremendously and Branford Bike was often a labor of love.
