SRAM 9 Speed Chains, Top to Bottom:
PC 99 Hollow Rivet, PC 99 Solid Rivet,
PC 89R Hollow Rivet, PC 89R Solid Rivet,
PC 69 and the PC 59.

  • The SRAM PC 99 Hollow Rivet is SRAM's strongest chain. It has nickel plated inner and outer link plates for longest wear and smoothest shifting. The inner plates are slightly beveled to enhance shifting. Hollow rivets add strength, enhance lateral stiffness, and increase longevity while reducing weight. This chain is ideal for triple ring cranks, touring, or the rigors of off road riding. May also be used with single or double chainring cranks. Weighs just 285 grams and is 6.4 mm wide. Shifts beautifully with Campagnolo and Shimano HG, 9 speed drivetrains.
  • The SRAM PC 99 has nickel plated inner and outer link plates for long wear and smooth shifting. The inner plates are slightly beveled to enhance shifting. Cross step rivets add strength, enhance lateral stiffness, and increase longevity while keeping the cost reasonable. This chain is ideal for triple ring cranks, touring, or the rigors of off road riding. May also be used with single or double chainring cranks. Weighs just 300 grams and is 6.9 mm wide. Shifts beautifully with Campagnolo and Shimano HG, 9 speed drivetrains.
  • The SRAM PC 89R Hollow Rivet is SRAM's lightest chain for 9 speed, double chainring road bikes. Like the PC 99 Hollow Rivet, it has nickel plated inner and outer link plates. Hollow rivets add strength, enhance lateral stiffness, and increase longevity while reducing weight. The outer plates are slotted to reduce weight while increasing shifting resposiveness. Weighs just 274 grams and is 6.2 mm wide. Shifts beautifully with Campagnolo and Shimano HG, 9 speed drivetrains. Also works well on Campagnolo 10 speed drive trains.
  • The SRAM PC 89R is our most popular SRAM chain for 9 speed, double chainring, road bikes. Like the PC 99 it has nickel plated inner and outer link plates. The outer plates are slotted to reduce weight and increase shifting resposiveness. Step rivets add strength, enhance lateral stiffness, and increase longevity while keeping the cost reasonable. Weighs just 294 grams and is 6.7 mm wide. Shifts beautifully with Campagnolo and Shimano HG, 9 speed drivetrains.
  • The SRAM PC 69 is similar in design to the PC 99. It has nickel plated inner and outer link plates for long wear and smooth shifting. The inner plates are slightly beveled to enhance shifting. Like the PC 89R this chain employs step rivets as opposed to the cross stepped rivets of the PC 99. Step rivets require less peening than cros stepped rivets, but provide more than enough strength for general road riding. Weighs just 300 grams and is 6.9 mm wide. Shifts well with Campagnolo and Shimano HG, 9 speed drivetrains.
  • The SRAM PC 59 is step down from the PC 89R. It has nickel plated outer link plates and black, hardened inner plates. Single step rivets reduce cost while maintaining strength and durability. Weighs just 306 grams and is 6.9 mm wide. Shifts well with Campagnolo and Shimano HG, 9 speed drivetrains.
  • For longest life and smoothest shifting we recommend using Le Tour Chain Lube on these fine chains.
  • A reuseable, gold 9 speed Power Link, is included with each chain. Extras are listed below.
  • Power Links allow you to easily remove or install SRAM chains without tools.
  • You may also use a conventional Park chain tool to remove links on all of the above chains. Do NOT use any chain tool to fasten the hollow rivet models. Those should only be connected with the provided SRAM Power LInk.
All the chains listed above have 114 links.

SRAM 6/7/8 Speed Chains, Top to Bottom:
PC 68, PC 58 and the PC 48.

  • The SRAM PC 68 is an excellent 8 speed chain for triple or double ring drivetrains. The PC 68 was modeled after the original Campagnolo Athena 8 speed chain. It has nickel plated inner and outer link plates. The inner plates are slightly beveled to enhance shifting. Cross step rivets add strength, stiffness and durability. Shifts beautifully with Campagnolo and Shimano HG or IG, 8 speed drivetrains. Weighs just 318 grams and is 7.1 mm wide.
  • The SRAM PC 58 is almost identical to the PC 68. It has nickel plated outer link plates for longer wear and smoother shifting. The inner plates are slightly beveled to enhance shifting but not nickel plated. Like the PC 89R this chain employs step rivets as opposed to the cross stepped rivets of the PC 68. Step rivets add strength, enhance lateral stiffness, and increase longevity while keeping the cost reasonable. Shifts well with Campagnolo and Shimano HG or IG, 8 speed drivetrains. Weighs just 318 grams and is 7.1 mm wide.
  • The SRAM PC 48 is a small step down from the PC 58. It has all the features of the PC 58 except for the nickel plated outer link plates. It is a well built and inexpensive chain. Perfect for a rainy weather or a winter bike. Shifts well with Campagnolo and Shimano HG or IG, 8 speed drivetrains. Weighs just 318 grams and is 7.1 mm wide.
  • For longest life and smoothest shifting we recommend using Le Tour Chain Lube on these fine chains.
  • A reuseable Silver Power Link is included with each chain. Extras are listed below.
  • Power Links allow you to remove or install SRAM chains without tools.
  • You may also use a conventional Park chain tool to fasten, add or remove links.
All the chains listed above have 114 links.

Branford Bike Online Catalog - Archival Edition
brought to you by the former owner of Branford Bike, Tim Brockett via his personal web site, TimsLife.Com
This is an archival edition of the Branford Bike web site from February 2006. Complete with product photos, prices, how to articles and technical specifications it is a treasure trove of accurate, detailed and historical information.

In July of 2006 Branford Bike was incinerated by a huge forest fire. No one was hurt but the inventory and buildings were completely destroyed. I witnessed the fire and stayed until the trees were burning in my driveway. At that point I hiked from Branford Bike, through the smoke and embers, down the mountain to my Jeep 3 miles away. I took photos and wrote about the harrowing experience so everyone could see what I saw. My insurance was generous and I later rebuilt my home and started another business selling books. Read the story here.

Branford Bike was a huge part of my life for over 30 years; June 1976 to July 2006. I enjoyed those years tremendously and Branford Bike was often a labor of love. I hope you enjoy browsing through the archival catalog. If your visit brings back pleasant memories please share them with me via e-mail at timbrockett@gmail.com .

If you find any printed Branford Bike catalogs, advertisments or flyers please scan them as a PDF and email. Or you may mail them via US Post to Tim Brockett, PO Box 1711, Emigrant, MT 59027. Eventually I will post them in a Memorabilia catalog section.

Many Thanks and Best Wishes,
Tim Brockett
