| The B 66 Champion saddles are designed for exceptional comfort on rough roads or trails. The Champion is a flat saddle and offers many comfortable riding positions. A premium, smooth leather cover, is stretched over a black, cro-moly frame and will provide you with years of riding pleasure. Both B 66 Champion models have dual, chromed rear springs to provide a smooth ride over the roughest terrain. The 'S' model is specifically designed for women. The B 66 Champion 'S' women's saddle comes with a rich, chocolate brown cover, weighs 972 grams, is 245 mm in length and 177 mm wide at its widest point. The B 66 Champion men's saddle also comes with a chocolate brown cover which has three, center vent holes. It tips the scales at 1,012 grams, is 275 mm long and 172 mm wide at its widest point. Both B 66 Champion saddles use heat treated, double steel rails and under carriage for maximum durability. B 66 Champion saddles easily install on any standard 7/8 of an inch round seat post as pictured. A double railed clamp comes with each saddle. You will need a Seat Sandwich, listed at the bottom of this page, to install a B 66 on a micro adjusting style seat post. Rail breakage can occur if you attempt to clamp only one rail to your seatpost. All B 66 saddles are meticulously handmade by skilled artisans in England. A premium leather cover with a pebbled grain finish, is stretched over a black, cro-moly frame and will provide you with years of riding pleasure. Both B 66 Universal models have dual, chromed rear springs to provide a smooth ride over the roughest terrain. The B 66 Universal saddle comes with a rich, chocolate brown or solid black cover with three centered vent holes, weighs 1,009 grams, is 260 mm in length and 210 mm wide at its widest point. The B 66 Universal 'S' women's saddle comes with a vented honey cover and is pictured below. It tips the scales at 971 grams, is 235 mm long and 210 mm wide at its widest point. All B 66 Universal saddles use heat treated, double steel rails and under carriage for maximum durability. | Brooks Proofhide is the ONLY product you should use to clean and preserve any Brooks saddle. Saddle soaps and oil products can over soften the leather and cause your saddle to rapidly stretch out of shape. Apply a little Proofhide to the top and bottom of your saddle. Proofhide will keep the leather supple and water resistant while aiding the break in process. Use it frequently while breaking in your saddle and then once every 3 months afterwards. The saddle tensioning wrench fits all Brooks saddles except for the titanium models which use a 5 mm allen wrench. It is easy to over tension a saddle and shorten its life. We suggest using this wrench carefully and infrequently. The Seat Sandwich pictured below, allows you to mount any double railed saddle on any single bolt, micro-adjusting style seatpost. The sandwich adds another layer between your seatpost's upper and lower cradle. A longer, 6 x 1 mm threaded adjusting bolt, is included. |

This is an archival edition of the Branford Bike web site from February 2006. Complete with product photos, prices, how to articles and technical specifications it is a treasure trove of accurate, detailed and historical information. In July of 2006 Branford Bike was incinerated by a huge forest fire. No one was hurt but the inventory and buildings were completely destroyed. I witnessed the fire and stayed until the trees were burning in my driveway. At that point I hiked from Branford Bike, through the smoke and embers, down the mountain to my Jeep 3 miles away. I took photos and wrote about the harrowing experience so everyone could see what I saw. My insurance was generous and I later rebuilt my home and started another business selling books. Read the story here. Branford Bike was a huge part of my life for over 30 years; June 1976 to July 2006. I enjoyed those years tremendously and Branford Bike was often a labor of love.
