| The Team Professional is Brook's finest saddle and their most popular model. Large, eye-catching, polished copper rivets accent this finely crafted saddle. The premium leather cover requires a little break in time but will provide years of comfort. Comes with a black cover and chrome rails or a honey cover with copper plated rails. All Team Pro saddles use heat treated, single steel rails and under carriage for maximum durability. The women's version, pictured below, comes with a honey cover only. Team Pro saddles easily install on any standard seat post. The Brooks Team Pro weighs 560 grams, is 275 mm long and 165 mm wide at its widest point. The women's Team Pro also weighs 560 grams but is a little wider at 170 mm and shorter at 246 mm. Both are meticulously handmade by skilled artisans in England. Brooks saddles are a work of art. Founded in 1865 by John Boultbee Brooks they are still meticulously hand made in England. |
| The Swift Ti is slightly thinner than the Team Pro and substantially lighter. Hand polished, oversize copper rivets accent this beautifully finished saddle. The premium leather cover is stretched over a feather light and shock absorbing, titanium frame. The Brooks Swift saddle will provide you with years of riding comfort. Comes with a black or honey, full grain, premium leather cover and brushed, solid titanium rails. The women's version called Finesse and pictured below, comes with a honey colored cover. Swift and Finesse Ti saddles easily install on any standard seat post. The Brooks Swift Ti weighs a mere 366 grams, is 275 mm long and 155 mm wide at its widest point. The women's Finesse Ti weighs 350 grams but is a little wider at 170 mm and shorter at 238 mm. Both are meticulously handmade by skilled artisans in England. | The Swallow Classic was recreated by Brooks from the original design of 1936. The premium leather cover is stretched over a feather light and shock absorbing, titanium frame. A chromed steel tensioning plate connects the right and left sides of the Swallow at the bottom mid-point and prevents the saddle from flaring while providing you with more support. Original patent information is stamped into the polished chrome plate. The Brooks Swallow saddle will provide you with years of riding comfort. Comes with a brown, honey or black, full grain, premium leather cover and brushed, solid titanium rails. A saddle cover, tensioning wrench, small tin of Proofhide and a cleaning cloth are included with the Swallow saddle. Swallow Ti saddles easily install on any standard seat post. The Brooks Swallow weighs a mere 366 grams, is 285 mm long and 150 mm wide at its widest point. The Swallow is meticulously handmade by skilled artisans in England. | The Flyer saddles pictured below, are essentially a B-17 with springs. The Flyer comes with a black or honey, full grain, premium leather cover and black cro-moly rails. The durable and shock absorbing springs add greater comfort and will smooth out almost any trail or rough road. The B-17 and Flyer saddles easily install on any standard seat post. The Brooks B-17 Champion Special and B-17 Standard weigh 689 grams, are 278 mm long and 170 mm wide at their widest point. The Flyer weighs 789 grams but is a little wider at 172 mm and shorter at 275 mm. The B-17 and Flyer saddles are meticulously handmade by skilled artisans in England. | Brooks Proofhide is the ONLY product you should use to clean and preserve any Brooks saddle. Saddle soaps and oil products can over soften the leather and cause your saddle to rapidly stretch out of shape. Apply a little Proofhide to the top and bottom of your saddle. Proofhide will keep the leather supple and water resistant while aiding the break in process. Use it frequently while breaking in your saddle and then once every 3 months afterwards. The saddle tensioning wrench fits all Brooks saddles except for the titanium models which use a 5 mm allen wrench. It is easy to over tension a saddle and shorten its life. We suggest using this wrench carefully and infrequently. |

This is an archival edition of the Branford Bike web site from February 2006. Complete with product photos, prices, how to articles and technical specifications it is a treasure trove of accurate, detailed and historical information. In July of 2006 Branford Bike was incinerated by a huge forest fire. No one was hurt but the inventory and buildings were completely destroyed. I witnessed the fire and stayed until the trees were burning in my driveway. At that point I hiked from Branford Bike, through the smoke and embers, down the mountain to my Jeep 3 miles away. I took photos and wrote about the harrowing experience so everyone could see what I saw. My insurance was generous and I later rebuilt my home and started another business selling books. Read the story here. Branford Bike was a huge part of my life for over 30 years; June 1976 to July 2006. I enjoyed those years tremendously and Branford Bike was often a labor of love.
