Convert Shimano 8 Speed Hubs to Campagnolo 8 Speed

The Wheels Manufacturing Camp-SH8 spacing kit will allow you to convert a Shimano 8 speed cassette to a Campagnolo 8 speed cassette.
Your new, 8 speed cassette, will shift perfectly with Campagnolo 8 speed rear derailleurs and Campagnolo 8 speed shift levers.
You do not need to change the freehub, or as it is sometimes called, the cassette body for this kit to work.
This kit comes with 5 alloy spacers. Simply replace the Shimano spacers with the Wheels Manufacturing spacers.
For best shifting use a Rohloff 8 speed chain.

Your new, 9 speed, 8 cog, cassette, will shift perfectly with all current and older Campagnolo 9 speed rear derailleurs and Campagnolo 9 speed shifters. You may NOT mix Campagnolo shifters with Shimano derailleurs or Shimano shifters with Campagnolo derailleurs.

The Le Tour spacing kit will allow you to convert a Shimano 105 9 speed cassette to a Campagnolo 10 speed cassette WITH 9 cogs. The Shimano cassette body is shorter than Campagnolo's cassette body. That is why only 9 cogs will fit on if the cassette is spaced for Campagnolo 10 speed.
Your new, 10 speed, 9 cog, cassette, will shift perfectly with all Campagnolo 10 speed rear derailleurs and Campagnolo 10 speed shifters. You may NOT mix Campagnolo shifters with Shimano derailleurs or Shimano shifters with Campagnolo derailleurs.
You do not need to change the freehub, or as it is sometimes called, the cassette body for this kit to work.
105 9 speed cassettes are riveted or bolted together but may be easily taken apart. Ultegra and Dura-Ace 9 speed cassettes have cog clusters that are permanently pinned together and thus will not work with the Le Tour spacing kit.
This kit comes with 7 aluminum alloy spacers and 1 black steel spacer.
Place the steel spacer behind your largest cassette cog. Then simply replace the Shimano spacers with the aluminun alloy Le Tour spacers. No spacer is required for the first position cog; it will work perfectly as is.
For best shifting use a Campagnolo 10 speed chain.

This is an archival edition of the Branford Bike web site from February 2006. Complete with product photos, prices, how to articles and technical specifications it is a treasure trove of accurate, detailed and historical information.

In July of 2006 Branford Bike was incinerated by a huge forest fire. No one was hurt but the inventory and buildings were completely destroyed. I witnessed the fire and stayed until the trees were burning in my driveway. At that point I hiked from Branford Bike, through the smoke and embers, down the mountain to my Jeep 3 miles away. I took photos and wrote about the harrowing experience so everyone could see what I saw. My insurance was generous and I later rebuilt my home and started another business selling books. Branford Bike was a huge part of my life for over 30 years; June 1976 to July 2006. I enjoyed those years tremendously and Branford Bike was often a labor of love.
