QSL cards for the country of South Africa in Africa
QSL from Radio South Africa
Station: Radio South Africa (RSA)
Band: Shortwave
Date: Around 1970
About: RSA was a favorite because it was so far away. They talked about a country and continent that seemed exotic. Lions, elephants and other beasts were discussed as well as politics, culture and history. Listening was both magical and educational.
Notes: RSA ceased broadcasting in 1992. They morphed into Channel Africa which continues the tradition of shortwave broadcasting in multiple languages including English.
