from Pirate Station Ball Smacker
- Station: Pirate Station Ball Smacker
Band: Shortwave 6960 KhZ
Date: March 19, 2021
About: Ball Smacker is a pirate short wave radio station broadcasting from "somewhere in the northeast" US. Maine seems a likely spot but I really do not know where their transmitter is located. Their spokesman states "Look for us most Friday nights at 9PM EDT on 6960 AM. We now have a website with show archives at BallSmacker.net". As of 2022 Ballsmacker is broadcasting at 4030 KhZ at 02:00 UTC on Friday evenings in the US.

Notes: From their website - History - Other countries have low power license options but in the U.S. you need 50 kW transmitters to get a shortwave license. Homey don't play that game. We believe that as the Internet makes broadcasting available to everyone there should be a special place for those willing to overcome the technological hurdles to generate RF on a wire that can be heard without the Internet. We are a volunteer effort to show there is still a place for real RF broadcasts in the Internet world.

- Station: Pirate Station Ball Smacker
Band: Shortwave 4030 KhZ
Date: February 25, 2022
About: This may have been Ballsmacker's last broadcast. In response to my reception report of February 25, 2022, Ballsmacker wrote "Thanks for tuning us in and your reception report. We have a website with show archives at BallSmacker.net It has been fun for over 2 years. Here's an eQSL!". I asked if he was retiring but did not receive a reply.

Notes: It was very difficult to hear the music and conversation of the February 25th broadcast. The weak signal could barely reach above the background static. I even tried the AirSpy server network of SDR radios in the US Midwest and Northeast. I did not have any luck locating a strong signal.
